Over the weekend we got the most snow that I have experienced since moving to North Carolina. I love it when it snows in the south, because everything shuts down. However, this is the first time we had to somewhere - our dear friends wedding, so we ventured out for it. The snow made it oh so beautiful and we got to be snowed in our church building with people we love - not a bad way to spend a snow day if not at home. That is why our 15 month waiting photo is of snow. What is written is the snow is the most exciting news we have had in a long time: we have officially raised - thanks to all of you! $27k is A LOT of money and we simply blown away that we started fundraising a little over 2 years ago and now we officially reached our goal, even with it going up $2k this past year. Humbled by your generously, you have no idea how much it means to us. We can now simply focus on, you know, baby things! I know I have talked about painting the nursery long ago, yeah that is still to happen. With us being much closer to the year and half waiting mark, we are a bit more ready to have a room baby ready soon. Some people have asked if reaching our goal means we are closer to getting a baby. It doesn't, even with the year and a half average wait time that our social worker gave us doesn't guarantee us anything. We have to wait and pray for the right birth mother to pick us, which that cant be given a certain time. Thank you to each of you who ask us if there is any update (makes us feel not forgotten in the waiting, just sorry there isn't any update to give), to those who pray all the time for us and for giving when you didn't have to, each of you who gave helped us reach our goal and you have no idea how much that means. Thank you for being apart of our adoption story and cheering for us in the waiting.
